Miami and Hollywood beach (less than an hour drive north of Miami) are located on the Atlantic side of Florida so the waters, although still azure aren’t as clear and sands not as powdery white. However, these two popular Florida cities are on our lists for the food scene.

Miami, which the name of the city isn’t of Hispanic origin, the city itself is full of Hispanic food influence. Be that as it may, there’s a little place called “1 800 lucky” where you’ll be fortunate to find a wide variety of Asian flair.

You might as well continue your foodie tour up the east coast side of Florida to Hollywood beach. A little more quiet than Miami, but still offers a great selection of restaurants including “Juniper on the Water” where we dined on some of the best paella I’ve ever eaten, made with couscous in lieu of yellow rice. And apparently, according to Keet, the old fashions with pecans were worth ordering several!

There is an abundance of empanada joints all over, but “Patagonia” is a must stop. There were so many flavors to choose from including chive and onion, corn, chorizo, ham and cheese…. and all shaped differently to distinguish between them. We just got one (or 2) of each! Lastly, and sadly I didn’t take any pictures, is “GoBistro”, a hole in the wall Ramen/ Sushi joint serving up some of the best octopus and enoki yakitori. ( They were devoured so fast hence no pictures!)
